Update: Week of 10/19/2026
Upcoming Traffic Alert: Late in the week of 10/19 southbound Randall Road traffic will be shifted west onto the new pavement. Be alert and watch for this new lane configuration.
This week, work continues on the Randall Road Improvements project, with multiple construction activities underway simultaneously. Upcoming activities include:
- Miller Road west leg: Continue parkway work in preparation for sidewalk and path construction. Traffic signal and street lighting installations will also continue.
- Bridge Work: Drive piles and form piers on the east half of Woods Creek Bridge. Continue removing the existing sight screen/retaining wall.
- East Side of Randall Road: Remove trees along the east side of Randall Road, south of Miller Road, in preparation for roadway widening and retaining wall construction.
- Retaining Wall Work: Continue painting the new retaining walls.
Traffic Alert:
The Miller Road West Leg Closure Continues
The west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road remains closed. The reopening is scheduled for late October. We will provide an updated timeline as work progresses.
During this closure, a detour route is in place. Drivers should follow posted detour signs:

➡️ From the north on Randall – Use Ackman Rd west to → Lakewood Rd south
🔁 Alternate Route:
⬅️ From the south on Randall – Use Algonquin Rd west → to Lakewood Rd north

Please note: Bradford Lane between Miller Road and Ashford Lane will be closed by the City of Crystal Lake while the Miller Road detour is in place.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use the designated detour route when traveling through the area.
