Update: Week of 9/28/2026
This week, work continues on the Randall Road Improvements project, with multiple operations occurring simultaneously. Upcoming construction activities include:
- Miller Intersection: Crews continue placing fill, installing remaining storm sewer, completing sanitary sewer relocation, installing traffic signal conduits, installing aggregate base and preparing for concrete paving.
- Bridge Work: Construction of the second half of Woods Creek begins with the removal of temporary retaining walls, driving test piles, complete the demolition of the existing triple cell box culvert and begin removal of the existing sight screen / retaining wall.
- Retaining Wall Work: Painting of new retaining walls is ongoing.
Traffic Alert:
The Miller Road West Leg Closure Continues
The west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road remains closed. Recent rain has delayed work, and the reopening is now anticipated for late October. We will provide an updated timeline as work progresses.
During this closure, a detour route is in place. Drivers should follow posted detour signs:

➡️ From the north on Randall – Use Ackman Rd west to → Lakewood Rd south
🔁 Alternate Route:
⬅️ From the south on Randall – Use Algonquin Rd west → to Lakewood Rd north

Please note: Bradford Lane between Miller Road and Ashford Lane will be closed by the City of Crystal Lake while the Miller Road detour is in place.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use the designated detour route when traveling through the area.
