Update: Week of 9/21/2026
Traffic Shift:
On or around Tuesday, September 22, northbound traffic on Randall Road will shift to the newly constructed lanes on the west side of Randall Road. This will allow crews to begin work on the next section of the roadway. Drivers should use caution and follow posted signs and traffic control devices.
This week, work continues on the Randall Road Improvements project, with multiple operations occurring simultaneously. Upcoming construction activities include:
- Miller Road intersection: Crews will continue placing fill and preparing for pavement installation. Work will also continue on the temporary retaining wall and embankment.
- Bridge and roadway work: Crews will construct aggregate base and temporary pavement from north of Polaris Drive to Woods Creek Bridge.
- Street lighting: Electrical work and installation of the new street lighting system will continue.
- Retaining walls: Painting of the retaining walls is ongoing.
Traffic Alert:
The Miller Road West Leg Closure is in Effect
The west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road is now closed. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately 8 to 10 weeks.
During this closure, a detour route will be in place. Drivers should follow posted detour signs:

➡️ From the north on Randall – Use Ackman Rd west to → Lakewood Rd south
🔁 Alternate Route:
⬅️ From the south on Randall – Use Algonquin Rd west → to Lakewood Rd north

Please note: Bradford Lane between Miller Road and Ashford Lane will be closed by the City of Crystal Lake while the Miller Road detour is in place.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use the designated detour route when traveling through the area.
