Update: Week of 8/31/2026
This week, work continues on the Randall Road Improvements project, with multiple operations occurring simultaneously. Upcoming construction activities include:
- On Monday, 8/31, the tributary that currently flows under Randall Road at Miller Road to the east side will be relocated to the west side. This is a major milestone in the project allowing the rebuilding of the Miller Road intersection.
- On Tuesday, 9/1, southbound Randall Road traffic will shift to the west onto the new roadway crossing Woods Creek.
- Removal of pavement at Miller Road and removal of the existing box culvert under Randall Road.
- Parkway grading and restoration.
Please be alert for a new traffic pattern beginning September 1, 2026. Southbound traffic will shift to the west onto the new roadway crossing Woods Creek, and drivers may experience lane impacts as crews prepare for the change.
Expect frequent southbound lane closures through the work zone while crews work.
Traffic Alert: The Miller Road West Leg Closure is in Effect
The west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road is now closed. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately 8 to 10 weeks.
During this closure, a detour route will be in place. Drivers should follow posted detour signs:

➡️ From the north on Randall – Use Ackman Rd west to → Lakewood Rd south
🔁 Alternate Route:
⬅️ From the south on Randall – Use Algonquin Rd west → to Lakewood Rd north

Please note: Bradford Lane between Miller Road and Ashford Lane will be closed by the City of Crystal Lake while the Miller Road detour is in place.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use the designated detour route when traveling through the area.
