The project is now 79% complete.

The electricians continued to work through the winter when they were able to and have made a lot of progress on the project.  The permanent signals have been installed and many of the street lights are up as well. These won’t be able to be activated until we shift northbound traffic onto the new lanes which is tentatively planned for mid to late May.

Work will continue on the electrical items as required, as well as more full scale construction! Concrete curb and sidewalk were placed Monday 3/22/21 and more is on the way.  Wednesday, 3/24, the contractor is scheduled to place one of the remaining concrete northbound lanes from Stonegate Road to Harnish Drive. This work will be followed by various curb, sidewalk and other concrete work. The remaining northbound lane is scheduled to be placed during the week of 4/5/21.

The contractor has also started work on the side streets – Stonegate Road and Huntington Drive work will continue with curb and pavement removals, as well as preparation for new installations.

Installation of the new hand rail and lighting for the inside of the new pedestrian underpass is ongoing.

Now that the weather has improved, the construction activity level, amount of equipment, and number of workers onsite will greatly increase, so please use caution when traveling through the work zones.
