Under the state’s current Stay-at-Home Order, Algonquin Road is experiencing reduced traffic volumes. Due to this unique scenario, the project team is aiming to fast-track the remaining underground work along the north side of Algonquin Rd. To facilitate this, beginning the week of June 1st, traffic on Algonquin Rd. will be shifted to the new pavement on the south side of the road and a new lane configuration will be introduced through the work zone. The traffic pattern will consist of a single lane heading east and a single lane heading west, with a left turn lane in each direction at the side streets, Randall/Algonquin intersection and the Butera entrance. Periodic driveway closures may be necessary. CLICK HERE to see a map showing the new lane configuration.
Note: Traffic conditions and counts will be re-evaluated as this work progresses to determine if the reduced lane configuration can be maintained through completion of the remaining westbound pavement installation.
